CMA Intermediate (CMA Inter) is the second level of the Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA) course, conducted by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI). It consists of 8 papers divided into 2 groups, with a total of 800 marks.
CMA Inter has 2 Groups, each containing 4 papers:
Group I: Papers 5 to 8
Group II: Papers 9 to 12
Students can appear for one group or both groups in an attempt.

Business Laws and Ethics (BLE)
Financial Accounting (FA)
Direct and Indirect Taxation (DITX)
Cost Accounting (CA)
CMA Inter – Group II Subjects
Operations Management and Strategic Management (OMSM)
Corporate Accounting and Auditing (CAA)
Financial Management and Business Data Analytics (FMDA)
Management Accounting (MA)
Each paper is 100 marks
3-hour descriptive exam per paper
Total of 800 marks across all papers
Exams are conducted group-wise
A candidate can register for CMA Inter if they have:
Passed CMA Foundation, or
Completed Graduation, or
Cleared ICMAI CAT, or
Are in the 2nd year of graduation / engineering
Registration is done online through the ICMAI student portal.
Students must:
Fill Form S2
Submit required documents
Pay the official ICMAI fees
June Attempt: Last date – 31st January
December Attempt: Last date – 31st July
